Groups seeking section status should use the following guidelines in the development of a Section name and purpose statement.

Section Names

When selecting a name for a Section, it is preferable to use terminology that is general enough to incorporate all aspects of a Section's activities and purposes into as few words as possible and is consistent in form with the majority of other Sections of the same type.

Section Purpose Statements

Section purpose statements should be concise, to the point, and include only information about the purpose of the Section. It is preferable to begin the statement with a phrase such as "the purpose of the Section is..."
