Appendix 9
Fact Sheet for Submitting Articles to MLA News
IntroductionThe MLA News is a current awareness publication, published by the Medical Library Association ten times each year, with the June/July and November/December issues combined. Its purpose is to provide the membership of the Association with a vehicle to state their views, communicate information in a rapid manner, and make brief reports on professional activities.
Objectives
ContentInformation about any of the significant activities within a Section would be relevant for publication, including availability of directories, union lists or other publications, honors and awards, standards, election results, cooperative research and survey results. The editor reserves the right to determine what is appropriate for publication and whether it should appear under the column "Section News" or elsewhere in the newsletter.
SubmissionAll items for inclusion in a forthcoming issue should be submitted to the Section News Editor, whose address appears in each issue of the MLA News, approximately one month before the published deadlines for the specific issue. General deadline dates for MLA News are published in each issue and on the MLANet Web site. The Section News Editor should be contacted about specific deadline dates for the section news column. Articles for submission should be no more than two double-spaced typed pages. Articles submitted via e-mail should be single-spaced and include "MLA News copy" in the subject line; articles submitted by fax or surface mail must be double spaced. The Section News Editor, along with the MLA News Editor, has discretion to edit for length, grammar, and content. Chair's Manual Table of Contents
