The Special Issues Task Force for 2009/10 produced three reports for comment:

Section Speaker Honoraria and Section Fundraising
Section Retention and Recruitment
Section Travel Awards (.xls)

This report (PDF) includes some recommendations that, if approved by Section Council, will be implemented for the 2011 MLA meeting. The floor is now open for discussion until 1/15/10.  Please give the Task Force your feedback.  Task Force members are: Ysabel Bertolucci, Julie Esparza, and Rikke Ogawa.
