New Council Members
New (incoming) Section Council members are welcome to attend both Section Council meetings, but are strongly encouraged to attend the second meeting on Wednesday. New members assume their official duties at the end of the second meeting. This is also when final committee assignments are made and the committees meet to set goals for the coming year. New members should also try to attend to the orientation session on Saturday, before the welcome reception.

Orientation Sessions

New Council members are given an orientation to Council procedures and policies. The orientation is usually at the Saturday session, from 4:45 p.m. until 5:15 p.m.

New Section chairs also have an orientation session to Section Council on Saturday. The Chair of Section Council provides an overview of Council activities and procedures, distributes the Chair's Manual, and talks about other resources available to help chairs with their work.
